Pratt and Miller Motorsports Technology Group:

Simulation Software Engineer (Controls and Dynamics)
May 2021 – Current
  • Currently working on software development for vehicle model, MPC/LQG-based controller development, and parameter optimization for Indylight Autonomous Vehicle and Driver in Loop simulator.
  • Developed automation using Python for multiple runs of sensitivity analysis of Modelica-based vehicle dynamic experiments. Wrote outputs in the desired database and created HTML plots to analyze system behavior and optimize parameters.
  • Integrating vehicle model and controller with CARLA simulator on ROS.

Mahindra Research Valley (Mahindra Automotive, Chennai, India)

CAE and Validation Research and Development Engineer
Aug 2016 – Dec 2018

• Performed structural analysis and design optimization of Mahindra tractor transmission parts using Ansys workbench, helping reduce 5 kg of weight on each component.
• Spearheaded vehicle validation tests for Mahindra XUV300 & Marazzo and completed the task in 6 months. Planned and executed DVPs for Acceleration Performance, Coast-Down, sensor testing, winter trials, Durability test, LIG, thermal tests, etc.
• Developed a correlation of 95% in results comparison between CAE analysis and real-world fatigue testing on shifter lever.
• Spot award for conceptualizing an automatic seat adjustment system to avoid casualties during airbag deployment.
• Computed a standard fuel economy drive cycle using least square estimation, to be driven with an automated accelerator pedal (SIAT 2019 conference) with the potential to save thousands of dollars on fuel economy validation.
• Filed two Indian Patents under Mahindra, related to Engine Cylinder Deactivation & Hybrid Turbocharger as a member of Mahindra Innovation Club.
• Got accustomed to Shop Floor, Unit Manufacturing Process, Additive manufacturing, Information Models, plant automation, sustainability, and quality improvement strategies like PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspections) and poka-yoke.
Technologies used: Python, MS Excel, LaTeX, OBD, CAN loggers, speed sensors, Ansys Structural, FEMFAT
